Since I renovated my studio, I had yet to customize the boxes I bought to organize the material. I've spent a couple of months making them something more special. I hope you like the result so varied :)
BLACK INK ODOR
4/10/2019
I started by breaking the ice with the color that makes me vibrate. Achieving a deep black color is not easy when the base material is porous, so the ink was the best choice. Combined with floral motifs, painted with colored pencils gave it a lot of texture and contrast.
SPIDER EYES
5/10/2019
I never thought that using some stickers and a couple of sprays the result would be so disturbing. Once again, letting your imagination run free leads to very rewarding creative surprises. Even my cat Achilles liked it! :)
MONDRIAN STYLE
12/10/2019
A tribute to this marked and representative style of art history could not be missing. Pure geometry and acrylic inks were undoubtedly the best option to replicate Mondrian.
COME ON PIÑATA!
16/10/2019
This time I wanted to use some jars of glitter that I had bought a long time ago. I'm not going to deny it, it wasn't easy to work with glitter, but I won the battle :) The box was most striking and very textured to the touch. In situ it looks like a piñata.
ABRA CADABRA!
22/10/2019
A few simple markers and cool words never fail. I wanted a lot of contrast so I didn't think too much about it and put the background in fluorescent orange. I have a special affection for this box. It looks like something out of a magician's props.
GEOMETRY AND DIAMONDS
7/11/2019
The "Strass" (bright) technique is very curious, it's like drawing with small colored pixels that shine. They are hooked with heat and combined with black and white geometric shapes, it gave a haunting look.
CHRISTMAS 2019
10/11/2019
To top it off, a couple of boxes inspired by the time to come: Christmas! Maximum colors and more diversity of materials than ever. They are a couple of "Scrapbooking" style boxes that are used to put a special gift inside.
I've had a great time going back to manual art techniques. I think that in a certain way the digital should be nourished by these experiences and vice versa. I don't know what my next creative path will be but I'm sure that whatever it will make me happy as always ;)
